The following position has just opened.

Starting Friday, October 23, 14 St will be closed from Main Ave to Center Ave for BNSF railway repair work. This work is expected to last 1 week, weather permitting. 

A detour route will be implemented that utilizes the new underpass on Main Ave, 11 St, and Center.

Drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes and expect delays and congestion in the construction area.

Notice is hereby given that the Planning Commission of the City of Moorhead will hold a Public Hearing at the Hjemkomst Center Auditorium, 202 1st Ave N, on Monday, November 2, 2026, at 5:30 pm to consider the following items:

1. Request of Prairie Parkway Plaza, LLC, for Vacation of the 14.00-foot Trail Easement within Lots 8-21, Block 2, Prairie Parkway 3rd Addition.

2. Request of Lowry Engineering, on behalf of Prairie Parkway II, LLC, for Vacation of Utility & Access Easements within Prairie Parkway 2nd Addition described as follows: 

A 20.00-foot utility easement lying 10.00 feet on either side of the shared lot line between Lots 1 & 2, Block 1.

A portion of the 50-foot utility/access easement lying 25-feet west of the east line of Lot 2, Block 1 and running parallel with the south line of Lot 2, Block 1.

3. Request of City of Moorhead for Vacation of all Easements within all Lots & Blocks of Mallard Creek Second Addition (now replatted as Azool First & Second Addition).

4. Request of New Cingular Wireless PCS, LLC for Conditional Use Permit to install a wireless tower at: 

1817 11th St N - Parcel 58.900.1880 - South 184 feet of North 255 feet of Auditor’s Outlot 32-L of Section 32, Township 140 North of Range 48 West of the Fifth Principal Meridian, Clay County, Minnesota, less the East 150 feet of the South 75 feet thereof (abbreviated description – full description available upon request).

At the hearing, the City of Moorhead will afford an opportunity for interested persons to be heard with respect to these items.

The Moorhead Human Rights Commission is seeking nominations for the 2026 Human Rights Awards.  Please consider nominating an organization or individual serving the Moorhead area that has made outstanding contributions to human rights.

Please use the Human Rights Award Nomination form. Nominations are due November 27.

Moorhead City Hall offices are moving back to City Hall (475 Red River Ave) from the temporary location (FM Center at 403 Center Ave) starting Monday, October 19.

The public should check in at City Hall at 475 Red River Ave unless they have an appointment. There may be a time when City staff are in transition and will have to be sent to the FM Center location.

Other Moves Also Happening

• Moorhead Public Service (water and electric utilities) will move back to City Hall in November.
• An after-hour drop box will be available at the north entrance to City Hall along Red River Ave.
• The temporary address for October is 2901 South Frontage Road Suite 2, Moorhead. 
• Public Meetings will continue in the Auditorium of the Hjemkomst (202 1 Ave N). A separate announcement will be sent when the meetings transition to the River Room in City Hall.

Parking is available on the east side of the building as well as street parking in the nearby area. Entrance doors are located on the north side of the building.
