City of Moorhead and Moorhead Public Library Announce Self-Service Access to the Essentia Walking Loop in The Loop

The City of Moorhead and the Lake Agassiz Regional Library are excited to announce a collaborative effort to offer extended access to the Essentia Walking Loop and the Moorhead Public Library. This partnership is designed to support community wellness and increase access to indoor walking opportunities.

Beginning Thursday, October 1, participants will be able to use the Essentia Walking Loop as well as use the library's self-checkout computers to borrow books, movies and other items from the library's collection and to pick up items they have placed on hold during these extended hours.

Self-Service Access Hours:

• Monday–Thursday: 7 am – 9 am
• Friday & Saturday: 7 am –10 am
• Sunday: 7 am –1 pm

Self-Service Access will be available to library cardholders 18 years-of-age and older. Those interested in participating may visit the library with their photo ID to apply for a key fob during regular hours. The Loop will not be staffed during the Self-Service Access hours and is monitored by security cameras at all times. 

This joint initiative highlights the City’s continued commitment to offering welcoming and accessible spaces.

The Essentia Walking Loop is free to the community and is located in The Loop, home of the Moorhead Public Library at 450 Center Ave, Moorhead.
