Moorhead Police Department Participates in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

The Moorhead Police Department will participate in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 25, offering residents a safe and convenient way to dispose of unused or expired medications.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is a biannual nationwide effort designed to prevent prescription drug misuse, reduce accidental poisonings, and protect the environment from improper disposal. Unused medications left in medicine cabinets can lead to accidental ingestion, theft, or misuse, while flushing medications or throwing them in the trash can contaminate waterways and landfills.

To make safe disposal easy, the Moorhead Police Department will host two drop-off events at Hornbacher’s locations in Moorhead:

10:00 – 11:45 AM
Hornbacher’s Azool
950 40th Ave S

12:00 – 2:00 PM
Hornbacher’s on Main
101 11th St S

No questions will be asked, and no personal information is required. Items accepted include prescription medications, over‑the‑counter drugs, and pet medications in pill or liquid form. Needles, sharps, and inhalers cannot be accepted.
