Search Warrant Results in Arrest of Two Individuals Following Horizon Middle School Incident
A search warrant executed on Tuesday, May 19, by the Moorhead Police Department has resulted in the arrest of two adults connected to an incident earlier in the week at Horizon Middle School.
On Monday, May 17, a student brought items described as “candy” to school. Several students consumed the items and became ill. School staff and emergency responders responded quickly to provide care.
During the follow-up investigation, officers executed a search warrant at 1100 block of 10½ St N. During the search, investigators recovered prohibited amounts of suspected THC products in the form of flower, cartridges, and wax, along with psychedelic mushrooms and large amounts of cash. A full inventory is underway to determine accurate quantities; additional information is anticipated to be released in the coming days.
Moorhead residents Martin Hulst (40-year-old) and Amanda Hulst (43-year-old) were identified as the parents of the juvenile that brought the “candy” to the school and were identified suspects in this investigation. The two were not present during the initial search. Early in the morning of Wednesday, May 20, the two suspects were located in Moorhead and arrested in connection with the case.
M. Hulst and A. Hulst were each charged with Felony 1st Degree Controlled Substance and taken to Clay County Jail. Multiple juveniles residing in the home have been referred to Clay County Social Services.This investigation remains active. No further information is available at this time.
