Public Notice for Engineering Project 26-A2-01 40 Ave S

Notice is hereby given that the City Council of Moorhead, Minnesota will meet in the Heritage Hjemkomst Center located at 202 1 Ave N, Moorhead MN , 56560 at 5:45 pm on Monday, May 11, 2026, to consider Bituminous Mill and Overlay improvements including the construction of a roundabout at 14 St and the addition of sidewalks and various pedestrian safety improvement on 40 Ave S between 8 and 20 St S (Eng. Project No. 26-A2-01). The estimated cost of the improvements is $3,500,000.

You are further notified that it is proposed to make these improvements pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 429.011 through 429.111, as amended. The area proposed to be assessed for the improvements includes all properties abutting the streets to be improved, together with all those properties generally bounded on the west by 8 St S from 35 to 46 Ave S, on the north by 37 Ave S from 8 to 14 St and 34 Ave S from 14 to 20 St, on the east by 20 St from 34 to 46 Ave S, and on the south by 46 Ave S from 8 to 20 St; and consists of the following properties:

  • All properties abutting 40 Ave S between 8 St and 20 St S, together with
  • all those properties abutting 34 Ave S between 14 and 17 St S; and
  • all those properties between 34 Ave S and 46 Ave S between 14 and 20 St S; and 
  • all those properties abutting 37 Ave S between 8 St and 14 St; and
  • all those properties between 37 Ave S and 46 Ave S and between 8 and 14 St S; and
  • all those properties abutting 46 Ave S between Stonemill Trail and 20 St

 

A reasonable estimate of the impact of the assessment will be available at the hearing.

  2. Click on Streets & Transit tab. 
  3. Select Construction Projects. 
  4. In the links, on the right-hand side of the screen, select 26-A2-01 40 Ave S Project

The meeting will be live streamed on the City’s Youtube Channel and on air on Moorhead Community Access Media (MCAM) on Midco Channel 12 or Sparklight Channel 58

At the meeting the City of Moorhead will afford an opportunity for interested persons to be heard with respect to this project. If you cannot attend the hearing in person, you can still participate and/or make a public comment before the meeting, by submitting your written comments to:
