Notice of Public Hearing | Eng. Project No. 26-A2-04

Notice is hereby given that the City Council of Moorhead, Minnesota will meet in the Heritage Hjemkomst Center located at 202 1 Ave N, Moorhead MN, 56560 at 5:45 pm on Monday, April 13, 2026, to consider street improvements on 6th St S between 16 and 18 Ave S; 20 Ave S between 6 and 8 St S; 22 Ave S between 4 and 8 St S; 7 St S between 22 and 24 Ave S and 23 Ave S between 8 and 10 St S, Street Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (Eng. Project No. 26-A2-04). The estimated cost of the improvements is $2,320,000.

You are further notified that it is proposed to make these improvements pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 429.011 through 429.111, as amended. The area proposed to be assessed for the improvements includes all properties abutting the streets to be improved and consists of the following properties:

  • All properties abutting 6 St S between 16 and 18 Ave S
  • All properties abutting 7 St S between 22 and 24 Ave S
  • All properties abutting 20 Ave S between 6 and 8 St S
  • All properties abutting 22 Ave S between 4 and 8 St S
  • All properties abutting 23 Ave S between 8 and 10 St S

A reasonable estimate of the impact of the assessment will be available at the hearing. 

An engineer’s presentation of this project is available to view by following these steps:

  1. Go to www.moorheadmn.gov
  2. Click on Streets & Transit tab. 
  3. Select Construction Projects. 
  4. In the links, on the right-hand side of the screen, select 26-A2-04 – 20, 22 & 23 Ave S and 6 & 7 St S (South Moorhead).

The meeting will be live streamed on the City’s Youtube Channel and on air on Moorhead Community Access Media (MCAM) on Midco Channel 12 or Sparklight Channel 58

At the meeting the City of Moorhead will afford an opportunity for interested persons to be heard with respect to this project. If you cannot attend the hearing in person, you can still participate and/or make a public comment before the meeting, by submitting your written comments to:
