Moorhead Police Department to Hold Active Threat Training July 20–23
The Moorhead Police Department will conduct Active Threat Training next week, July 20–23, at Moorhead High School (2300 4 Ave S). Training will take place in the River Wing and will include classroom instruction and scenario‑based exercises designed to strengthen officer readiness and response during high‑risk incidents.
Training will occur on the following dates and times:
- Monday, July 20: 6 am – 6 pm
- Tuesday, July 21: 6 am – 6 pm
- Wednesday, July 22: 8 am – 8 pm
- Thursday, July 23: 6 am – 6 pm
During the training, officers may be seen carrying firearms and moving throughout the interior of the building in the River Wing; however, no live rounds will be used at any time. The public may hear loud noises and yelling in the area, and several squad cars will be parked at the school as part of the training environment.
This training is for Moorhead Police Department personnel and is not open to the public or media.
