Austin Fellman Honored with MoorHeart Award!
Congratulations to Austin Fellman! On Monday, March 23, the Moorhead City Council and Mayor Shelly Carlson presented him with the MoorHeart award.
Austin works to organize and create opportunities for Special Olympic athletes to feel seen, valued and included. Through this program, athletes come together to compete, participate in a team, and build connections. His leadership style is enthusiastic, inclusive and patient.
Austin was nominated by several individuals, including parents and Concordia associates. The glowing nominations highlighted his initiative and communication, which has increased participation of athletes and created an inclusive environment compelling others on campus to join in the fun.
The City of Moorhead thanks Austin for his contribution to Moorhead. His dedication and motivation to improving lives of others and his leadership of Special Olympics Concordia College which celebrates individuals for who they are makes Moorhead a better and supportive place. Thank you, Austin!
The MoorHeart award is commemorated with a piece of art commissioned from local artist, Dennis Krull especially for this purpose.
As you learn of others in our community doing great things, large and small, please consider submitting a nomination. Information on nominating others for MoorHeart consideration is found at our Awards and Recognition page of the website.
