Matson Field Upgrade Project
Matson Field is the leading destination for youth and amateur baseball teams and tournaments in Moorhead. Planned improvements include replacing the existing metal bleachers with a covered grandstand to enhance comfort for fans and visitors. Additionally, a new monument sign will be installed at the entrance, with a design inspired by a preferred model in West Fargo.

Since 1959, Matson Field has been the place where youth, American Legion, and amateur teams practice and host games. This aging facility has become home to the Moorhead baseball community, but it’s in need of many improvements.
The biggest need is a grandstand for visitors, but the press box, concessions, restrooms, scoreboard, sound system also need improvements. The goal is to update the facility to a standard that makes our Moorhead teams proud. the updates will boost the hosting of league games and tournaments, which bring a positive economic impact to the City of Moorhead and its businesses.
