The 2026 Greater Moorhead Days Medallion Hunt kicks off Saturday, September 5 at 8:00 am.
Explore Moorhead’s city-owned parks to find 23 hidden medallions and score great prizes!
New This Year
This year’s hunt starts over the weekend and features a major expansion. Instead of the traditional three medallions, 23 medallions will be hidden throughout Moorhead city-owned property to encourage community exploration!
This year we will not be providing individual clues or location announcements. Hunters are encouraged to get out, get active, and explore Moorhead’s parks independently!
Announcements and updates will all be posted on our Facebook Page! @moorheadparksandrec
Rules
- Only one medallion may be redeemed per participating family/group/or individual
- Medallions are hidden only on Moorhead City-owned park property
- If you find one, take photos of the medallion and where you found it. Send the photo to us as soon as possible by Facebook Messenger at @moorheadparksandrec. Include the date, time, medallion number, and location or email steve.french@moorheadmn.gov
- Redeem all medallions at the Parks & Recreation Office during business hours
- No digging, climbing, entering restricted areas, or damaging park property
- Moorhead Parks & Recreation may provide general hints or additional information during the hunt at its discretion. Hints are not guaranteed and may be provided based on participation and the number of medallions remaining.
- No individual clues or location announcements will be provided. Medallions are hidden throughout Moorhead city-owned parks and recreation areas, and hunters are encouraged to explore and search for themselves.

A kid-friendly Greater Moorhead Days celebration with activities including carriage rides, a petting zoo, inflatable games, yard games, music and more!
This makes for an excellent opportunity to market your business or organization, but more importantly a way to interact and engage with the community. We invite you to be a part of the celebration and set up a booth, share your services or products, and provide a fun giveaway or game!
Registrations must be submitted by Thursday, Sept. 3 by 4:30 pm.
