Effectively maintain the public urban forest to preserve and enhance this valuable resource to benefit current and future generations.

Forestry maintains over 26,000 trees along the city’s boulevards, parks, and city-owned parcels. Our Tree Inventory dashboard tracks any publicly-maintained tree in Moorhead. 

The City of Moorhead Forestry Division has six full-time staff, four of whom are ISA Certified Arborists. This certification is obtained after three years of experience in the tree care industry (or a combination of experience and education), and the passage of an exam. ISA Certified Arborists maintain their certification by earning continuing education credits.
