Environment and Sustainability

GreenStep Cities:

Minnesota GreenStep Cities is a voluntary challenge, assistance and recognition program that aims to help municipalities across the state achieve and improve upon their sustainability goals. The program is structured with a 5 step improvement system, starting at step 1, where municipalities aim to make improvements that move them to higher steps.

Moorhead officially joined the program on July 24th, 2017. Since then, the City has taken on efforts to progress through the program. In 2022, Moorhead attained Step 5 status, the highest achievement level in the program, by improving upon a multitude of sustainability related metrics.
